My task is being the group secretary. My task is to write minutes of meetings for the whole project and assisted by Lucy. My role is not as important as leader, coleader or video maker but this minutes of meeting were used to keep us on track and to record everything we do. I believe effect of this role makes me one of the group personal reminder. I need to remind them every little thing on what we discussed and plan to do. From this, we as team never missed out anything and always submit everything according to schedule. This will maintain the less stress situation along the project implementation.
My other role is not official, but I voluntarily want to do it which is always be one of the earliest member to reply any messages in the whatsapp group. I acknowledged that this role is very important as all of us were separated due to online distance learning and only can be united with whatsapp. I believe that communication is the key to the success of this program. i will be one of the member to ask udpates and questions to clarify any misunderstanding within groups. I will always make sure that everything is clear and confirmed by the group leader, Ain before leaving the conversation. I think it is very difficult because some of our group member constantly giving late responses but luckily their job is excellent.
I am very satisfied with my contribution although I did not participate in bigger and fancy role like being the presenter or group leader, but I have contribute in completing many little things which all of them were recorded in my individual logbook -https://fatihahmsdr.wixsite.com/website/post/nurul-fatihah-s-individual-logbook. From this, I learnt to do many things, be productive and have learnt to organize my schedule well by prioritising what is important as we were given a lot of assignments along this semester.
The implementation of our SULAM project does not went as planned. Our original plan of SULAM is supposed to be hybrid as one of our group member should be physically present at SAKURA. But our group member have cracked his leg after the selection of KESUMAS. Because of that, our program were held fully oline. By helding the program online, of course some technical error have happened. From our side, the presenter have quite slow internet connection does make the presentation a bit unclear. Luckily we have prepared other alternative which is video presentation which summarise the whole presentation. From that video, SAKURA’s students have understands the topic well and can answer the question and quizzes with flying colours.
From the students side, they faced many challenges. The first challenge is they need to attend the program late as they have problem in connecting to the school’s wifi. The other challenge is they cannot enter the google meet room as they cannot join by using their student email. Most of them cannot join by using their personal email because many of them have forgotten their password. Their alternatives to overcome these challenges is by forming few groups and attending the program using few devices.
If I was given the chance to handle this SULAM project differently, I will attend the program physically because I think there were less impact on students understanding and awareness on this topic when it was held online. I felt little bit disappointed because some of the students feedback told it would be best if the program was held physically with music, laughter and less sleepy mood. We could dance, sing, and laugh together but this obstacle prevented us from holding more interesting programs. The program feels a bit gloomy and less exciting because we cannot do any hands-on activity during the program and no prize giving ceremonies at the end of the program. I want to see their ecited face when learning and experience new thing because from the program we held online, they cannot open their camera as shown as the picture below.

After completing this project, I am very happy and felt free because SULAM is a very big project with many little details needs to be done and considered. After completing SULAM project, the final step is to complete project final report as well as presenting the result to Dr Rafeah and the whole class. The process is all smooth after the SULAM project as all of our group member did very well in completing their tasks and I am very proud and thankful to have them as my group.
From the collected feedback, the targeted community which is the students of SAKURA have known the importance and general information of composting as they know do’s and don’t during the preparation of compost as well as steps in composting. Besides, the awareness on landfills and ideas on composting rather than landfills dumping were clearly stated and explained. Some negative feedback that we got were the project was lacks in music and only focusing on lecturing rather than hands-on activity. They gave this kind of feedback because students preferred to learn from experience than only by attending the talk, writing notes and watching the video.
The most valuable experience during this SULAM project is during the Question-and-Answer session which was my part. I am very happy because they finally voicing out and manage to answer all the question well. At the same time, they praise our presentation and video presentation as they were easy to understand. Besides, I am very happy because I can directly answer their question regarding the topic as I have full understanding in this topic. Before this, I have difficulties in answering question or talking to people especially when they are in a huge group of people, but I handle the session well. Because of that, I realised that I should understand about the topic to get full confidence to speak. There is nothing to be scared of during the process of learning.
